I have a couple of questions!

[ Anyone who remembers Jade's last post will probably be relieved to see that her room is pretty much clear of the jungle of flowers and plants that she'd grown before. You can actually almost see the floor! ]

I know Hanako has Nashi, but does anyone else have a pet? Does Asgard have pet stores?

[ She holds up two fingers. ]

Secondly -- what do people usually do with money they earn here? Other than just buying silly things.

[ Three fingers! ]

And lastly, I've got time off from both of my jobs this weekend! Does anyone want to do something?

[ All of this being social is exhausting and so much fun, Jade is still thriving on it. ]

I realize that this place is a far cry from normal, but I do have a question concerning the... natives and what makes them happy.

[Rachel, by the video, seems to be somewhere within the Odin district. She has an armful of books and her bracelet is turned on, precariously centered on her face as she tries to adjust everything -- but as her arm moves, it seems to show a collective of grey people staring at her.]

I was just walking home and a few of them started to follow me and I'm unsure on whether or not they want me to come with them or take me to their leader or -- well, it isn't as if any of them speak and -- this is so rude, they can probably hear me -- oh, no --

[And as Rachel turns, to face her followers, the books tip out of her arms to land on the ground. She curses softly to herself before she steps forward, to rescue a sheaf of sheet music from a puddle. And as she's about to proclaim that she doesn't have the money to replace it, one of the natives stoops to pick up one of her books -- and seems to point at the sheet music that she's borrowed from the library. She takes it gingerly before looking at it -- and she looks up at the taller being with a tentative smile.]

Do you like music -- ? Is that what you want to keep hear --

[And the feed shuts off as she hurries to pick up the rest of her things.]

[ The video starts off a little blurry and unfocused, followed by a stream of grumbling about "confounded technology" and "I didn't even press that what the hell -- " as well as an assortment of mild curses. When the feed finally does focus, Kotetsu is peering into the frame with a frown before he stands back and scratches his beard. ]

There we go...

Now where was I -- Aha!

[ Geez, no need to shout! You're only in the kitchen, Kotetsu and there are people still sleeping. Keep it down, wouldja? ]

... Etooo ... well first things first, I have a couple questions to ask.

One -- [ He holds up a finger. ] Has anyone seen Bunny around? Y'know, the tall blonde with glasses I usually follow around?
He's up and disappeared on me for some reason and I hope it's not 'cause of something I said...

[ He frowns. Usually that's the reason why Bunny gets in those moods where he won't say a word to Kotetsu and boy does Kotetsu really hate that --

Moving on!
Two fingers.
] Two ... anoo ... Does anyone here have someone -- either here or back wherever you came from -- you trust the most? Someone you absolutely cannot live without ... ?

A-And no ... ! I ... uh ... I am not bring this up because of anyone in particular. I'm just ... curious... eheh ...

[ Uh-huh, riiiiight ~ Best not ask him about that, though. He won't give you a straight answer and he's definitely not dealing with any issues that might have started with that musical event. Nope. Not at all.
He holds up three fingers up now and moves to show everyone watching a very large bowl of fried rice he made himself. He's been missing his fried rice, okay. And maaaaybe he made a little too much of it so he's decided to share it. Yay!
]

And third ...

Would anyone like a helping of my specialty fried rice ~ ?

motherfuckin magnets man...
HOW THE MOTHERFUCK DO THEY WORK?

What would you do if someone hurt a very close friend of yours while they were in a vulnerable position and couldn't fight back?

Would you track them down and go after them?

Would you try to reason with them?

Would you let it go, since your friend is fine now?

How do you deal with something like this?

You know, this has been troubling me for some time.

[Hey, Asgard, it's that guy with the clocks for eyes. And this time, he's looking a bit confused.]

So...I had a few questions about a certain phenomenon that occurs often between two people. They go and they, erm, lock lips with one another. Sometimes they put their...[He makes a face.]...tongues in each others mouth. I have no idea why.

But, anyways, what purpose does it serve? Does it exchange genetic material through their saliva? Or is it used as an action to distract the other person? I mean, I've seen it among people who love each other, but...I often notice it between people who don't love each other either. So, it's not exactly a gesture of love, is it?

[A pause as he frowns.]

Basically, what I wanted to ask all of you: what is, exactly, the purpose of kissing?

And a little while later, after some thought, a single line of text appears: ]

AVENGERS. ASSEMBLE.

[ooc; so, Tony and Pepper are updated. Replies (from me) and spiffy HTML will come later, there's kind of an emergency happening at my house right now. Pepper is around, though!]

[There's nothing like cleaning up your bar from water damage to get your thoughts wandering to idle places, and Lucifer is hoping that everyone else has been similarly bored. Or at least enough to hold a decent conversation with him.]

It seems our little gods were brushing up on their flood mythos in the past few days, much to our displeasure, I've seen. It's a shame, since I expected something distinctly more biblical, and yet that wasn't much more than a good flood of the Nile.

Oh well. It seems that they didn't want to wash away the sinners, as it were. I wonder how many would even remain, if that were the case?

But questions of morality and character aside, a broader question—In the world you came from, what did faith and religion entail? Whether you personally followed them (or, I suppose you could still follow them) doesn't matter, I'm just interested in hearing about the religions of other Travelers. I would share my own, but I have something of a bias.

Though in honesty, I'm surprised that none of you seem to be worshiping the gods here. Fear of destruction usually motivates people to worship, not to take a stand against them.

[ Finding herself in a world filled with so many more people than the shitty little meteor she had spent the last year (half-ish sweep) on has given Terezi an opportunity; with the flooding making an already difficult-to-traverse city (for her, due to the lack of color) even more difficult to wander around, she has been left spending time alone, thinking. Thinking and thinking and thinking.

Normally, she would not bother bringing up a topic like this to others, but the anonymity along with the vast amount of resources (people) to tap into has given her reason to open up in hopes of finding some answers, even if under the guise of being anonymous. Perhaps she will not have to wrestle with herself and her doubts in silence.

She ensures she uses human terminology. She ensures to eliminate any instance of her quirk. She ensures to avoid anything to identify her style of speech.
]

Hello, Asgard. I hope you're not too frustrated with the current state of the city. Not frustrated enough to refuse to help with a poll of sorts, anyway, because I would like to make an inquiry.

It's a small one, but the more responses the better. It's pretty simple, too.

How do you define 'justice'? How do you relate it to the idea of 'right and wrong'? What importance does it have to you?

Simple enough. Please entertain a bored guy's curiosity, okay?

[ Please feel free to respond however you would like: text, audio, or video. Her response will always be anonymous text, however. Feel free to be anonymous yourself if your character would wish it, but it might be more fun and result in some CR that may otherwise not happen if they were to reply non-anonymously. ]

28 May 2012 @ 06:38 pm
[Normally she would just resort to text posts, much easier to deal with. But she doesn't quite think her level of severity here would be gotten across with writing.

So -- much sooner than she intended (which was never) -- Lisbeth resorts to making a video post.

Plus this way, everyone will learn to avoid her by sight. She's already been hugged once just walking outside to have a smoke. It was enough to set her off because they would not let her go for hours. Not until she smirked - a twitch of the lips and that was it. But that was enough hugging to last her a lifetime. It was appropriate, she thought, to post a warning.]

If any one of you tries to hug me I'll make sure I'm the last person you get to touch.

And no, before you say it: I don't care if you 'can't help yourself'. Keep. The fuck. Away. From me.

Or I'll use this on you.

[And here Lisbeth brandishes her new best friend. A gun.]

Got it?

[And the feed ends. Scary. First impressions obviously aren't her thing.

Lisbeth will just be holed up in her room. Avoiding people.]

[It's most likely the gods' doing that the bracelet turns on without his knowledge. After all, Yuri is hardly one of the most contented of Asgard's citizens. Instead, he's filled with discontent, far more than he shows.

He is singing, soft and low, as if to himself. A slow, sad song that sounds like a lullaby. It is sung in Russian rather than in the language of Asgard, a song from his childhood. He doesn't know why he feels suddenly compelled to sing, and this song, of all songs.

As he makes his way through the verses, his voice grows more pained, until the song's end, when he can barely manage the words, though he keeps singing in spite of the difficulty. He remembers his mother, when he was a boy... He'd kept quiet, listening to her sing. Where was his mother now? If what the gods said about their absences not being noticed wasn't true, what would she do without him?]

Sleep, good boy, my beautiful... )

14 May 2012 @ 07:14 pm
Judge Petrov, I have something to ask you. [ His voice isn't exactly quiet, but it's at a respectful tone. ]

You had mentioned something about a justice system... I'd like to know more.

[ The feed clicks on, to reveal one young blonde and a man at the point of 'midlife crisis averted' with a peculiarly-designed goatee. The blonde speaks first, as he adjusts his glasses. ]

Hello, this is Barnaby again, and my partner Kotetsu. Apparently there are very few people from Sternbild here, and many of you have been asking questions about-

[ The elder, darker-haired male rolls his eyes and shakes his head. He's used to Barnaby's formal speech, but is no less annoyed by it. ]

Oi, Bunny. We're not on TV, ya know! No need to be so formal! And besides ~ If you're going to introduce us, then do it properly!

[ Kotetsu grins and waves a hand at the screen. He's practised and rehearsed this at least a million times. ]

Yo! We're Tiger and Bunny and we're the super cool and badass Hero duo from HeroTV!

[ It's Barnaby's turn to roll his eyes. ]

Nobody knows what HeroTV is! I didn't write that!

Isn't that part of what we're going to tell them, though?

[
Barnaby reaches over off-camera, and picks up what appears to be a few pages- a goddamned script, of all things.

Kotetsu scowls and scratches his beard. His frown deepens at the sight of the script and he rolls his eyes. Yes, he read the script, but he's not very impressed with it or even the mere idea of having to follow it. Kotetsu has trouble listening to direct orders, Barnaby, you should know that...
]

Did you even read the script?  And don't tell them to call me Bunny!

[
The last part of that is a hiss. Kotetsu rolls his eyes again and raises his hands to make mock-bunny ears. ]

"And don't tell them to call me Bunny!"

[ Barnaby rolls up the script and gives Kotetsu's head a good smack, who yelps and cradles his head, throwing Barnaby a little glare while he grumbles under his breath.  ]

O-Oi ... ! Keh ...

[ He rolls his eyes, and looks towards the camera, sighing when he realizes that they never stopped recording. He's just... going to give up on... Yeah, they might as well abandon the script. ]

Anyway, since a lot of people were asking us what makes us Heroes, or asking about HeroTV, we've decided to open up the floor to answer questions together.

[ Kotetsu perks back up when Barnaby resumes the recording, nodding once more with a grin. ]

So ask away! Just no real personal questions!

Tiger and Bunny, over and out ~ !

[ Waves as he reaches over Bunny and presses the 'stop' button. The feed shuts off with a click. ]

[[ Yukari: So, guys, it's pretty self-explanatory- if you were giving these guys a hard time for calling themselves Heroes in their intro posts -/stares at tony stark- go ahead and ask them stuff about it! Kotetsu and Barnaby will be answering at their discretion, and threadjacking each other as they see fit. ~

PS: Ichigo Kurosaki is not allowed to ask Barnaby why he stole his voice. :>

12 April 2012 @ 11:20 am
 Eh ... ? What is this thing ... ?

[ A voice can be heard as the feed turns on; a pair of amber eyes are blinking into the video, eyebrows raised slightly out of curiosity. Kotetsu is sitting in the shared area of Sigyn and currently trying to figure out where he is and what the purpose of this bracelet on his wrist is.

He sits back after a moment, revealing a middle-aged man with a rather interesting looking beard. He raises a finger to poke at the screen, much like a cat.
]

It works kinda like the call-bracelets do ... Except, hmph ... now I have to figure this thing out, too... [ A slight frown. He's never really been that good with technology. He wasn't even that great with the Hero TV call bracelets, either, and he used it a lot... ]

Soooo ... maybe it's a communication device, then? [ Pokes at it again. The screen blanks for a second before the video feed returns, apparently unhappy with this mistreatment. ] Hellooo...? Anyone there? Heeeellllloooooo ~ ... ?

Hmm ... [ Taps his chin for a moment, thoughtful. Grins and raises a hand in greeting. ]

Hello! I'm Kotetsu T. Kaburagi! A-Ano ... if anyone out there can tell me where I am and what I'm doing here, that'd be great! Didn't really get the gist of what that letter was trying to tell me sooo ~ [ Laughs a little and scratches the back of his head.

Blinks at something on the screen after a moment and pokes it. The video feed shuts off. Looks like he found out how to turn it off... ]

Current Mood: confused

12 April 2012 @ 01:41 pm
[ Hey there, Asgard. Have one ridiculously flawless blonde sitting in the shared area of Thor, trying to make sense of what's going on; more specifically, his bracelet. ]

It works remarkably similar to the call bracelets... [ Except, you know. Now it clashes with your outfit, Barnaby. ]

But there's an open communication line... Hello? Is anyone there? [ He adjusts his glasses as he inspects the screen. ]

It has more capabilities than the call bracelets, even... [ He's talking to himself rather than to viewers, and seems to be scrolling around through whatever piques his interest, not that anyone watching can see what that is, exactly. ]

Hmh... I am Barnaby Brooks Jr., Hero, and I just arrived here. I believe some further explanation is needed... [ Well... at least he's being levelheaded about his new circumstances.

His brows furrow at something on the screen, and the feed clicks off. Oops, guess he just figured out how to turn it off.
]

[After reading her letter and talking with the maid, Nina wastes no time using the bracelet. She still can't believe that she magically arrived in a new world, but she soon overcomes some of her shock.

It takes Nina only a moment to discover how to activate the bracelet and start recording. However, when the screen materializes, her eyes widen in astonishment. Although she's used to technology in her world, nothing is as advanced as this.

There's a brief pause before she speaks. She sounds relatively calm for just arriving, but she still has a somewhat strained and incredulous tone to her voice.]

Hello, my name is Nina. I was told this was another world, no matter how hard I find that to believe.

I still can't believe that this isn't some sort of strange dream... I don't even remember going to sleep. [She seems reflective for a moment, and she glances at something unrecognizable in the distance before her gaze returns to the screen.]

How did we get here? Has anyone tried to leave or left successfully? There must be a way out. [The last sentence is said with absolute determination. She can't stay. She has responsibilities at home, and she finally started her life again from where she's left it.]

And I don't understand what this letter means... "You have been chosen by the gods to bear the honorable task of restoring colour and life"? Everything looks quite colourful to me. Is it a joke?

I would appreciate any information. Thank you.

[OOC: During her conversation with Zack, Nina learned how to use the video function, which she will use in her responses to everyone. :)]

[Added later:] )

07 April 2012 @ 01:19 pm
[The video begins showing an elegant, though clearly very powerful woman, who is looking at the camera quite seriously. Those in the know with pop culture should recognize her immediately, but even if you don't, she has a serious address for Asgard.]

I have found myself in alternate dimensions, upon other worlds, and standing amongst the gods, and this seems to be no different. That's not to say I do not accept the responsibility which these gods have asked, but I have learned far to often to never take things at face value. Especially when it concerns new and strange places.

This device will hopefully reach others in the same situation. To those of you that hear my message, I am Diana of Themyscira. I do not know from which world you hail, but perhaps you may better know me as Wonder Woman. I request information. I cannot be more specific, but I would gratefully accept anything pertaining to this situation beyond what was mentioned in the letter I received. This is especially pertinent since there seems to be... [She actually pauses, sounding slightly unsure] some contradiction. Regardless, I thank you for your time and for any help that you may be able to provide.

If this message reaches those who have brought us here, I would like to speak to you as well. I offer only good will and hopes for a peaceful meeting, as a champion of Kane Milohai, and formerly, as the champion of Athena.

[She bows her head, respectfully, then offers as a final note,]

May the wisdom of the gods guide us all.

06 April 2012 @ 05:29 pm
[Laura is walking through the now colourful land of Asgard. She looks less like someone who is appreciating the beauty of nature and more like a caged animal pacing.

She raises her communicator to give a panoramic view of a multi-hued area of the streets of Asgard, moving it around to prove her points.
]

The gods cannot be relied on to keep their word. They will probably try to hold onto us for insurance.

[Pessimistic? Just a bit. But then, Laura has never been a ray of sunshine. It's not in her nature to see the bright side of life.]
