Okay, anyone listening? It’s two weeks late, but it’s time for another radio show from us! This is Ayumi Shinozaki, and with me are...

Chihaya Kisaragi, along with our special guest of the week-

Hoshii Miki! Hi, everyone!

And this is of course, the Saturday night radio show that we don’t have a decent name for! So, we have a lot to talk about today, don’t we? It’s been a month since the first of us showed up, and the past few days have been full of things going on. Just this past week, there’s been a dragon and a scavenger hunt! How did everyone do during it, by the way? did you find anything interesting, you two?

Cut for length )

[Have a pretty upbeat seven-year-old, Asgard. The video feed has barely opened before Conan's started his exposition -- and does he have a lot to get through.]

Ne ... the dragon was pretty scary, huh? But a lot of people have been talking about getting ready for the next time something like that happens, so I've been thinking too! At my school we have earthquake drills and fire drills to make sure we're ready for an emergency. It makes them seem less scary because you know that if something bad happens, you'll be where you're supposed to be! So, I think we should pick places -- like the healing station at Folkvang and Heimdall, the park and also the hospital, for people to evacuate to in an emergency!

Also, Seth-niichan and I want to make emergency kits! This is supplies you keep ready so that in an emergency you can just grab them and get out of there! Things like first-aid supplies, food and water, warm blankets, rain gear ... Anyway, we want to make enough for everyone who wants them, so we'll need help!

Ayumi-neechan and Rarity-neechan ... I hear you're really good at drawing things! Well, I know Ayumi-neechan's good but I haven't met Rarity-neechan yet ... We could do with your help! Also anyone else at Freyr who can draw things, or anyone else with a job who has access to supplies we might need -- material, canned food, energy bars, flashlights, batteries, maybe candles ... Ah, I'm sure all of you have some really good ideas too! I want to hear them!

So if you'd like to help, please let me or Seth-niichan know! If you've got a better idea about evacuations and stuff like that, Merlin-san's been thinking pretty hard about it too! I can let him know your suggestions. Also, let me know if you want an emergency kit! Thank you!

[There's one thing for sure, the network sure has been... quieter lately. Maybe Rider was taking his time to explore. Or maybe he actually calmed down.]

[Wait, no, that's impossible.]

[As evidenced by the jovial and infectious laughter that first greets the video. Rider is sitting somewhat seriously, since this is an important query (for him).]

Ha, all this talk of war, it's refreshing! Well, perhaps not refreshing for most of you, but I certainly have been restless without some sort of battle ahead of us! The prospect of a great war, that is what I have been waiting to hear!

[He claps his hands together, loudly. Though everything Rider does is generally. loud.]

So, I have a proposition for all of you, my friends! This is certainly not a battle won alone, if we are to face the likes of great dragons and other divine beasts, so we should ally ourselves together. We must form an army! Of course, there is no better to lead it than I, Alexander III of Macedon. If you should ally yourselves with me and take arms, I will do my best to reward you for your efforts. [He laughs] Indeed, perhaps after being a denizen of my army in this case, you shall find it too great to leave!

[This all sounds extremely arrogant, but... Rider is very self-assured that people will be volunteering left and right to help out. It's how his mind works.]

I wish to hear of your skills, whether they be ones granted here or skills you possessed in your homelands, but I will turn away none from my army. [a grin] We are all in this together, after all!

((OOC and Update: If your character would be interested, please comment here so I can keep track ooc!))

So, if the dragon is to believed, there's a war coming, and we're all expected to participate. [He pauses, then shakes his head.] No, maybe not expected, but if someone's planning on attacking the city, then it affects all of us anyway. With the walls sealing us in, we've nowhere else to go.

That means we'll be seeing more of what happened--the fires, the injuries--and we need to be prepared when they strike next. I don't know about the newer folk, but a lot of us who were here since the beginning have been practicing the powers the gods gave us. I think...if we're going to give ourselves a good chance of surviving this war, we should all try to work together...help each other.

[There's a pause as he fiddles with something off-screen.] I was thinking, each house should have a few people volunteer to teach the newer members how their powers work. We all sort of blundered through it the first time around, but I don't think we have the time to do that anymore. Not if the dragon and its companions are serious about the war.

Anyway, Sigyn's part of the city has a hospital, and the healers there are--[Whatever he's about to say next is lost in a sudden yelp. Merlin jerks his hand back and frowns at it, just as a smallish form practically launches itself at him.

And down he goes, flailing his arms as he falls off his chair. The bracelet manages to catch the words that sound suspiciously like "Ow! What was that for, Arch--" before the video cuts off.]

[Action | About 20 minutes into the attack up to post-dragon and onwards | Temporary Healing Station @ Folkvang Comfort House in Freya ]

['How did a perfectly normal, peaceful day get this bad?'

This was the very thought that crossed her mind, as she attended to yet another faceless civilian with her usual gentle ways -- and the powers bestowed upon her for her stay here, the power to Heal.]

Hold still. [she would say, as she shut her eyes, and eased the energies from within her to come forth and soothe the wounds of the civilian.]

[anytime during the attack, or even after the dragon has left, feel free to join right in with any characters that have already been following Keine to this location, or even those that would stumble in, bring any wounded, and along those lines.]

[Video | After the Dragon has left]

[when Keine does appear on the feed, she seems to be covered with just a bit of soot and dust -- if anything, an obvious speck of dirt can be seen at the side of her chin. Her expression is as neutral as can be, as she would say the following.]

Now that the dragon has left, I'd like to call for the help of any who are still able-bodied.

Once the fires still remaining have been put out, help us, by searching for any who are wounded, and quite possibly trapped in any buildings and houses, and bring them to either where I am, the temporary Healing Station at the Folkvang Comfort House, or the Hospital in Sigyn - whichever is closer, of course.

Keep alert, everyone. We can get through this together.

[a little smile to express her gratitude, before the feed cuts.]

[[ooc: do thread with each other on the post, other than just with Keine! The more the merrier! And it's nigh impossible for a smaller, inofficial establishment to deal with certain more serious wounds, so needing cooperation from multiple characters would likely be necessary!]]

Attention, soldiers! Cutie Librarian Strategist Mami is here to support you. Worry not! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

Our opponent today: the fierce fire dragon! Here is all the information you'll need!

-Dragon Type
-May be weak against ice, water, or both
-Has wings, may be weak against projectile weapons
-Has scales, may be weak against piercing weapons
-Recommended battle party members: Dragoons, Clerics, Archers/Rangers, Knights
-Likely has high stamina/magic stamina; bring plenty of healing potions
-May be weak against other dragon skills
-May revert to human or have a second form

[And, look! The video is switching to Mami, who looks very serious for once. It's also clear she's outside, since...fires...dragon...yup. She salutes the camera.]

Mami won't be much help in the battle, but she's here for all of your support needs! Good luck, team! Everyone, fight!

[And the video feed cuts out.]

[The video flickers on, revealing a mostly dark room. There's a small lamp lit, and at first, that's all that can be seen. Soon, the screen shifts, and there is Seiko. She is smiling, but the dark circles under her eyes kind of ruin the effect.]

What do you do when you can't sleep? I've tried counting sheep, drinking tea, warm milk, shifting my bed... Nothing helps.

When my eyes do close...

[Her smile falls, and she shakes her head, shutting off the feed.]

[ hey asgard. surfing the network? well whoop-de-doo have a post from one (1) dave strider. he's looking fairly normal today, body distanced a bit from the video. but that's for a reason. he's pretty much studied up on the currency of asgard, all for the purpose of this message. ]

Ok, so. Apparently people are going around getting jobs and whatnot and since hot tubs don't just fall out of the sky unless you win it cupcake-baking, I'm just gonna sit here and advertise to you my

commissions.

For those of you that are way too low on the low-down to know what these are, or you're head's still stuck in the 15th century, commissions are basically a case of 'you pay me' and 'I give you artwork'.

And I know what you're thinking; oh Dave how would you shit out masterpiece after masterpiece oh so eloquently in such a pre-modern phenomenon without a lunk of a computer???

[ chill as heck face. ]

Well baby, this is traditional. Ha.

CUT FOR IMAGES AND SMART-ASS SIDE COMMENTS )

[ he finishes, laying back a bit. ]

Aaaad, that's all.

All these prices are in copper runes and all of them are currently open. I'm in stealth mode right now, don't want too many people grabbing at my sweet deals and take my commissions under siege. So honestly, you're getting a really sweet deal. We can always figure out a cost if you're low on the dough, but don't try pulling anything, 'kay?

[ ooc: read up on the faq, h/e if this isn't allowed, notify me! he doesn't really expect anyone to "buy" anything. if at all, this is more of an advertisement of his rad skillz, yo. ]

[ Sometime after a certain idol duo's post, well... perhaps the gods are feeling particularly cruel this evening, or maybe Chihaya is so tuckered out from a full day's singing practice that she's being forgetful. Either way, the camera starts rolling (of its own accord) at a slight angle, giving a decent view of the bathroom and an even better view of Chihaya's back as she sits in front of the mirror, clad in only a towel. ]

[ There's something off about her hair, but it's hard to tell what it is; the camera angle leaves out most of her head. More to the point, Chihaya's solemnly staring at the mirror for a good few minutes, not moving a single muscle- until she finally relaxes with a sigh, turning away from the mirror- ]

[ - and finally giving the camera a VERY good view of just what Chihaya has done to her hair.] )

[ There are not enough words for just how many shades of red Chihaya's face cycles through, before she finally collects enough of her wits to LUNGE at her bracelet and shut down the feed with a muffled, mortified sound. ]

Hey, everyone.

A lot of people have been asking questions about the gods -- specifically, where they come from and what their back-stories are. I've written up a quick synopsis of what I know about them from the myths in my world, along with what powers I've heard the other houses have.

You can download the attachment here.

If you have any information or questions about what I've written, I'd like to hear them, along with any experiences you've had in both your own world and this one about the gods. You can send me any questions or comments to my inbox or contact me now -- I'm still awake.

Thanks.

-- Sam.

[The video opens on a grey outdoor scene. Conan's beaming broadly at the screen. He's wearing what should be a uniform jacket on a grown man but on Conan is more like a ankle length coat. He also has a matching cap that looks like it belongs to the 1950s. The reason for this quickly becomes clear.]

I have a job! It's not a very exciting or special -- but I got one! I'm delivering things for the post office in Hel! I'm still learning my way around the city, so if you see me somewhere looking lost, help me out okay? As a thank you, I'll deliver stuff for you too!

Oh, and if you're heading outside today, make sure you've got a scarf and gloves! I think it's getting even colder out here.

[Private to Kon & Kuchiha;]

Look, guys!

[Do you see this? It's Toki with a handful of dirt containing a tiny plant sprout -- he makes a face at it for a moment, and suddenly it grows, roots slithering across his hands and stem lengthening until a single white flower unfolds.]

I learned to do this! It's pretty cool, huh?

[And now he tries to untangle his fingers, only to end up dropping the whole plant. He yelps, jumps, then looks down with a clearly distressed face.]

Oh. I stepped on it.

[/private]

It's pretty cold, huh? I've been trying out my power, but it's hard to keep plants alive in the snow.

What kind of powers does everyone else have? I bet we could do some pretty cool things if we worked together!

[This time, Conan's sitting at the desk in his room. The desk is too high for him, so he's comandeered a couple of cushions from the Hel living room sofa to prop himself up. He's got his notebook in front of him, and is sitting pertly at his desk, every inch the little kid playing at being important. The cheery wave, kind of undoes that impression a little, but even that is intentional -- there's a very fine line between precocious child and what the heck, and Conan is trying his best not to be obvious.]

Remember I asked everyone three days ago if they were important to their world? A couple of people asked me to share what answers I got but then there were snowmen and I kind of got a little distracted but I'm ready now! Um, these are just the trends I noticed, so if you know something that'd contradict them, help us out by telling us! Any theories or plans we make here are only as good as our data!

So um -- most of the people brought here by the gods consider themselves important to that world. Of that group, I noticed there were lots of people who described themselves as members or commanders of armies, armadas or peacekeepers -- which for the small group I interviewed was kind of a surprise! We also have a few celebrities, particularly in entertainment! I guess it's not difficult to see how they'd get our captors' attention ...

There was a second group of people who had connections to someone or something important in their world! I noticed that the majority of members of this group used their skills to help out the important person or thing, so it might be that experience that caught the attention of our hosts!

There was only one person who didn't consider themselves important or have any connections to anything important -- Not-important-niichan, you forgot to introduce yourself properly! Tell me your name, okay? And everyone else I haven't talked to yet! It'd help us a lot!

Also, I think it'd be a good idea to make a list of people comfortable with the technology in the halls and those who need a teacher! Maybe if you need help you can reply saying what house you're in, what you'd like explained, and what skills you have, and people who can help can reply saying what they can do and what they're curious about, and we might be able to match people up! I think it'd be a good idea, anyway, before someone electrocutes themselves.

And what was the last thing ... oh, right! Tell us what welcome hall you're staying in too! Thank you!

Okay, is anyone listening? Today we’re bringing you something special! I’m Ayumi Shinozaki, and with me is...

[ A remarkably similar voice follows close behind, though this one is calmer and a bit more restrained: ]

Chihaya Kisaragi. Welcome to our first episode of... of...

Come to think of it, does it have a name yet? )

14 December 2011 @ 04:35 pm
[Conan beams. Pure, unadulterated, cheerfulness might not be enough to distract from the drab, gloomy interior of Hel's hall, but he's trying hard.]

Ne -- I was thinking! I've heard a lot of people wondering why we were here -- not the reason in the letter. Why us and not anyone else! So that got me thinking -- maybe we'll find out the answer sooner if we ask questions to a lot of people at once!

I've got one for everyone -- sorry if it's a bit weird, but try and answer the best you can, okay? I bet it'll be useful in the long run. Anyway -- how important are you in your world?

I'll be waiting for your answer -- thank you!

[And clicking the feed off, Conan lets out a sigh, massaging sore cheek muscles. Tch ... this better work ... ]

[Ayumi bows slightly to the recording before she starts speaking, apparently in her room.]

Greetings everyone, it's nice to meet you all. I'm Ayumi shinozaki, from Kisaragi High. I don't know how many people know about Japan, but that's where I'm from. My hobbies are ghost stories and drawing, and... this is turning out to be a pretty ordinary introduction, isn't it? Well, I know a good way to fix that up.

[And with that, she covers the curtains to her room and pulls out a candle.]

Why don't I tell you all a ghost story, right now! A good idea came to me not too long ago, so I kind of want to try it out as soon as possible.

[And with that, she happily lights the candle, and cuts out the lights.]

So, has anyone around here heard of doppelgangers? It's said that somewhere out there, there's someone that looks exactly like you. According to myths, seeing your doppelganger is an omen of death: That meeting a doppelganger means that it will kill you and take your place.

However, the ones around here work a little differently. If you listen really carefully, you can hear your own voice on the wind. If you follow the source of the voice, you'll come across it: The doppelganger. And then, the doppelganger will steal your voice. No, not merely your voice, but the air itself from your body will be sucked out by it, as though it's eating your soul... And perhaps it is.

So if you hear your own voice singing, calling out to you, don't head towards the voice. If you're foolish enough to investigate it... Well, you can't be saved, can you?

[And with that, she blows out the candle, waits a few minutes, and turns the lights back on, beaming.]

So? What do you think? Not bad, huh?

Hi hi everybody! Rise Kujikawa and Souji Seta, on the scene and exploring the city of Asgard! [Rise salutes and bumps shoulders with the [livejournal.com profile] veritates next to her, squeezing them both into the video feed for a quick shot.]

Hi. [ that seems to be all he wants to say before going back off camera, his attention drawn to... well... something. who knows. ]

It's a strange new world out here, and we're all a little curious as to what's around. Well right now, we're located here at... Ge... Ge-fi-on Park. It looks pretty, doesn't it?

[SCENIC PAN OF LAVISH SCENERY. It's brootiful.]

We saw an amusement park earlier in one of the other districts, but it was kind of creepy. This place is a lot fancier, and there's even carriage rides! Although...

[Rise turns the camera to catch one of the horse-drawn carriages trotting by. Hey does that horse have eight legs??? You bet it does.]

That's pretty weird, isn't it? [Rise laughs a little.]

Is it...? [ doesn't seem to bother him much. ]

Hey Senpai! [The camera shifts abruptly as Rise loops her arm around Souji's, holding him close.] Let's go on a carriage ride together! Ju-st the two of us. Can we?

Eh? Weren't you just saying they were weird...

So that's a "yes"? Come on, let's go!

[ well that definitely caught him by surprise. he doesn't seem to know how to react at first, though he seems to reluctantly nod as the feed suddenly turns off. ]

This still sounds like something out of a manga.

[A girl appears on-screen. She hasn't quite been able to swallow this scenario; it all seems just a little too weird.]

Picking the great Ritsu was an excellent choice! I can bring colour to this world! Although... it's a little sad.

[Ritsu places her hand on her heart, bowing her head. She allows for a nice, dramatic pause and then-]

While I am here, I am unable to fulfill my promise! The one I made with my friends on that fateful day by the shore! We stood together and took each others hands and vowed that we would play at the Budokan someday!

How cruel it is that those words now mean nothing!

[Exaggerating? Mayyybe. ...Now? Would be a good time for someone to hit her on the head.]

How cruel!

12 December 2011 @ 09:09 pm
[Giant blue alligator ahoy! That's probably more noticeable than the girl with a hat at least twice the size of her head. Both their gazes seem to be fixated on the bracelet.]

Like an updated Pokégear... [Curious alligator is curious about the hologram and will try to touch it, only to find that her claw goes right through it. She retracts her arm and continues to stare at it. The girl looks at her monstrous companion.] All holograms are like that, Miki. Won't be able to feel it.

[The girl turns back to the bracelet and changes the angle a few times.] Really is amazing. Wonder if I can take this home with me. [With a few tweaks, it could possibly act as more than a communication device. It might be able to hold maps, play the radio, and maybe even give info. on Pokémon and places. Just think of the possibilities!]
