I've got a question for the people-countries here. Or the country-people. Is there something you prefer to be called? I don't want to be rude, but I still don't really understand everything about it yet.
[An urgent look.]
But Spain said that sometimes, when a country is gone, the person just disappears! Is that true? Is it like dying, or do they go somewhere else? It doesn't seem right, for a person to just disappear into thin air after existing. I mean, I know no one lasts forever, but that's different from going 'poof.'
If you could answer me, I'd really appreciate it. I want to understand more about this.
And do any of you know Japan? What's he like?
[An urgent look.]

[There's a pause because he wasn't sure if he should really get into the whole "poof" thing.]
What would you expect to happen when a country dies?

It'd be stupid to tell a human that instead of dying they should just turn into something else, you know.

That is a good question, though death is a rather mysterious matter even to us! Perhaps it is better explained that we are evolving as our people change? Death does not happen often, nor does the birth of new nations.
[shrugging]
Although we are not human, I do not think we 'poof' as you put it. We return to the same earth as our children do. [No glitter or smoke or whatever. Just good old fashioned 'here today, gone tomorrow' that plagues humanity BT]
Japan? He is very ah, polite. [and therefore suspicious in that way you'd feel guilty of if anyone ever called you out on not thinking the best...] He is one of the more private nations I have come across, but oh well-- you cannot charm them all, ouais?

Her face becomes more serious as she thinks about what he said, though.]
There's no body, though, right? So you can't really bury them and have a funeral? Do you do anything to remember a dead country?

... W-well, I-- That idiot talks too much. [slkdfjsd clearing his throat.] Suppose it depends on the nation honestly. I'd much prefer to be called England.
A-and as far as Japan is concerned--As the others have said, he's polite and very private--oh! And very considerate and industrious as well!

I am glad to hear that everyone seems to respect Japan so much.

I didn't know there were that many of them here.
You don't...think they'd be offended if we were confused by them. Do you, Nakama?

The person just disappears? I understand what you're saying. Taiwan disappeared for a while once. I don't think they exactly disappear into thin air. Maybe they go somewhere else.
Hm.
Talking to other countries might help.
