I've got a question for the people-countries here. Or the country-people. Is there something you prefer to be called? I don't want to be rude, but I still don't really understand everything about it yet.
[An urgent look.]
But Spain said that sometimes, when a country is gone, the person just disappears! Is that true? Is it like dying, or do they go somewhere else? It doesn't seem right, for a person to just disappear into thin air after existing. I mean, I know no one lasts forever, but that's different from going 'poof.'
If you could answer me, I'd really appreciate it. I want to understand more about this.
And do any of you know Japan? What's he like?

[Still puzzling this out.] What if a country comes back, and the culture's restored? Does the country come back to life?

[He's really just talking while he considers the question.]
I don't know if that sort of thing could really happen. Countries die when there's no one who participates in the culture anymore. If you brought it back later... I guess you'd create someone with the same name, but I don't think it'd be the same person. I don't know if that's ever happened, though.

[She frowns.] I was just thinking of when there were huge empires, and countries were conquered and forced to take on the culture of their empire. It's sad to think of those countries dying and not being able to come back when they were set free.

[Iceland hasn't been in many wars--not since a long time ago when he was very small. It seemed much sadder to him to lose people, but then again he was naturally biased toward his own citizens. Then again, the idea of losing another nation is so...]
It's hard to imagine countries dying, I guess. No one seems to be going anywhere, at least for now.

[He seems very casual about it, though, so she's not too worried. She'd be much more upset if she were a country, she thinks.]
Um... which country are you, by the way?
Re: video
It's not like I'm gonna die soon or anything. I'm Iceland.

I'm an island up north in Europe. On the arctic circle.

Oh... it must be really cold there. [No kidding, Nakama.] I'm only in seventh grade, so I haven't done a lot of world geography.

[Iceland stop it you can't attract tourists here.]

[Not that she'll ever get the chance anyway.]
... it sounds nice, though. If I could visit, I would.
