[She clearly has no idea what she's doing. For starters, the video is just of the wall to begin with. Mostly she's just hit buttons until something seemed to happen.]

Is this...? Oh dear, this is so dreadfully confusing. Well...

[Finally she comes into view, curls all arranged perfectly despite her absence of maids to attend her, or near enough. Admittedly, her hat is hiding most of it, but that was the novelty of such a large hat, and she was glad she had them, because doing her hair was going to become... difficult. Almost as difficult as lacing up her corset by herself.

She's also sitting on the stairs of the Welcome Hall, and somewhere between a frown and a pout on her face. She was doing alright with being here, some part of her was even excited... but... well she couldn't go out through the water. It would ruin her dress, and on top of everything else, she disliked feeling trapped, even if she was used to it.
]

I'm told that others can see this? I'm a little confused but... does anyone know how to leave the buildings without... well, getting damp?

[She leans on her hand, sighing a little, just a bit bored too.]

[Castle smiles.]

Having time to plan before we got magically whisked here would have been nice, yes.

[He's thinking.]

What if I bring you a change of clothes - just to wear until you get through the water. They'll be women's clothes, I promise.

video; i sense awkwardness ahead

Oh, these would be 21st century clothes. They're not as lovely as the dress you have on, but they're much easier to put on. My friend is about your size I'd say. I'll have to go pick some up from her and then I can meet you at the palace?

[He could just see Beckett's face now when he told her he needed to borrow some of her clothes in order to rescue a woman from a foot of water.]

From there I can show you where your Welcome Hall is. The maid told you what house you're in, right?

Yeah.. err, they are pants. Any dress would get wet. Plus Beckett doesn't have any dresses... like that. I'm sure you'd rather the pants get wet than your dress, yes?

[Castle smiled.]

Richard Castle, pleasure to meet you, my lady. Freya house makes perfect sense for you. I'm in Loki.

[Castle's a bit worried about how upset she got.]

Listen, you don't have to get rid of the dress. I'll carry it for you so it doesn't get all wet.

I mean, I can come get you anyway, without other clothes, and take you through the water.

[But she'll be sloshing the entire way.]

It's to be expected. You just showed up in some random place where you weren't an hour ago.

[Castle was pretty out of sorts too, though he thought it was Ryan and Espo playing a practical joke on him.]

I'll be there in a little while. Got to go to Heimdall to get the clothes first. Sit tight.

[With another smile, he shut off the video stream.

About a half hour later, Castle came sloshing through the water in a pair of rain boots that went up practically to his knees. He held a bag with the clothing in it.]

Lady Cavendish, I presume?

'My lord'? He could get used to this. Castle took her hand and lifted it to his lips, kissing the back of it gently.

"No problem at all. Inside the bag is a button down shirt, some jean pants, a pair of socks and rain boots. I.. guess you can go back into the palace to change?"

Castle was about to say he would help her, then realized how that sounded. He hadn't intended it to be for that but since the woman hardly knew him, he could imagine she'd be a bit scared by what he was suggesting.

"I understand.. ah.. take as much time as you need."

Castle tried not to laugh at the sight of her in Beckett's clothes, rain boots and her huge hat. She looked a bit ridiculous but it was a means to an end.

"It's lovely. I'm glad Beckett's clothes fit you."

He offered her his arm.

"I can take you to your Welcome Hall if you wish. It's where your room is, where you'll be staying while you're here."

He led her slowly through the water. It made perfect sense that she was from the 1700s, based on her clothing.

"I'm from 2012."

Castle nodded.

"It's a great time, thanks to the combustion engine and electricity, both of which were discovered over a century ago. But those two things made possible much of which we have in my time."

He glanced at her, taking her in. Lady Cavendish was even more beautiful in person.

"I kind of always wanted to go to court in the 1700s though. Court means something different in my time. Generally it's not a place you want to go."

Let's see, two divorces, several parking tickets and one DUI when he was in his 20s. Oh and one marriage. Gina hadn't wanted a big to-do. He'd been to court his fair share of times.

"Yes, those are the only kind of courts we have in my time. I live in the New World."

Depending on what year she was from "America" either meant nothing or was a huge fuss.

Those type of things were hard to explain for someone who didn't have a scientific background, but he figured he had to try.

"A combustion engine uses... gasoline and heat.. I think, in order to make it run. You can use it to create energy. Similarly, electricity creates energy too, but it's like...... you've seen lightning before, right?"
