[Sam hasn't posted on the network in awhile -- a month and a half, to be precise -- mostly because he's been busy. He's moved, he's working a lot, he's been dealing with his own... particular brand of issues.
But Asgard is having difficulty. Odin is in a coma and while Sam might hate the annoying pretentious prick, that's most definitely not a good sign. And while before Sam couldn't rationalize in his head that the end of this world meant the end of others -- now, it's a possibility, something he can't ignore.
He wants to stay here. He wants to stay, badly.
To do that, Sam needs to reach out and touch base on his resources.]
Hi, Asgard.
[He makes this speech too often, but it's gotten him a lot of good friends out of the deal. Information is pretty priceless, after all.]
I'm Sam Winchester. Some of you might've been given my guide to the gods upon arrival, so -- if you have any questions concerning this world, the powers you've been given, or what's happened here so far, you can ask me.
[He pauses.]
I usually don't ask for things in return, but -- how are the state of your worlds, at home, before you came here? Good, bad? Spectacularly awful? On the brink of collapse or the height of prosperity? I'm just... wondering.
[Another pause.]
-- thanks.
[Filtered to list Kate Beckett, Jo Harvelle, Dean Winchester, Castiel, Buffy Summers, Merlin, and Morgana Pendragon // Private // Unhackable]
[He's quiet for a few moments.]
... everyone knows that I'm not the biggest fan of the story being sold here. Our worlds are on the brink of collapse, everything is falling to pieces, we need to save this one in order to live on another day. Whatever.
[He takes a deep breath.]
But for the people who don't want to go home [like him] this is the only shot they've got. I want to work to preserve that as much as possible and that means figuring out what the hell is going on with Odin, and with the city. Preventing war is just as important as fighting it -- and all of us have seen combat in one way or another. I know all of you can be trusted with everything, including my life. So...
[Pause.]
-- we need to be able to figure out how to help Odin in the most effective and efficient way possible. Any ideas?
[Filtered to Thor // Private // Unhackable]
[He knows the gods can see every single thing that's said on this network, and that Thor can see what he said to his little band of misfits, but he still wants to talk to him personally.]
How are you settling in to being king?

video;
There is war...rumors of creatures rising from beyond the borders, to cover the entire country with winter and night. To kill us all, or so they say.
Even if not true, there is still the bloody war.
[That may be killing him.]
video;
So would you say that Asgard is an improvement or the same?
[They have their own problems here, too.]

My brother's spoken of Others--White Walkers, if you prefer--coming back beyond the Wall, and his...lover [there's a hesitant little pause before that word, like he really doesn't quite know what to do with that] has said as much as well.
[Note that he very carefully steps around the issue of what's been happening with his family. This would be because he's not all that certain he can remain calm and composed while talking about Sansa's marriage to Tyrion Lannister, or Arya's to Bolton's bastard.]

If his future even allows for that.]
Depends what side you're on. Either you just escaped genocide and are gonna be fighting against total loss of what you are in at least a couple of years, or you're getting closer and closer to making the world a better place.
[He'll answer. That doesn't mean he won't be at least a bit of a dick about it.]

I don't think there's a better way for me to sum up my past few years. Maybe I'll hire you to write the blurb in the beginning of my autobiography.

[She's heard enough clues to guess that it might wind up alright, at least part of it, but she's not allowing herself any ease of mind.]
And how's yours, then?
[Though her voice is serious and concerned, there's the slightest bite of ironic cheer in the question, at noting how casually she asks about the possible apocalyptic state of his home world. It's sad that that's a thing now, especially because disastrous home worlds seems to be a theme here.]
[voice]
[A bit dryly, because Sam knows it's kind of a stupid question to ask the population. Hey, is your world crap? Let me share with you how crap my world is, and maybe we can bond over it.
Buh.]

the world's biggest fucking understatement.]
I'm pretty sure I'm barred from going to see him -- and even if I weren't, I doubt the gods want us hovering over him.
[He pauses, though.]
I don't know whether or not creating an army is the right thing to do. This place is at the brink of war, but -- we just got done paying our respects to the dead. There's been a lot of it lately.
I want to try preventing it, for once.

But things at home, for me? I have been told that it's falling apart. Well, I knew this, but I didn't know how bad it had gotten. It doesn't stop me from doing what I must though. If anything, it makes me want to go through with my plan more.

Give him a second while he searches around for his guide. In the meantime -- ]
... so what's your plan?
I wouldn't mind hearing it, because I'm fresh out of ideas. Might be inspiring.

Seeing him in person would help figure out what exactly is wrong with him -- in my opinion, anyway, but I don't know how willing the gods are to let us look at him.
