' Anything that gets your blood racing is probably worth doing. '

I guess I'm not really in the habit of giving advice (if this could even be called advice). I'm not even much of a bookworm or have that much of a thing for words. I just figured everyone has a phrase or quote that matches them pretty well, don't they?

I like this one. Pretty sure I would have liked it at nineteen, too.

Just out of curiosity...

Is there any idea about a defence system or plan of action if, or I guess when, Thiazi attacks again? I feel like this is twice we've been caught off guard. Both times a huge chunk of people had left the city. I don't think that unintentional. Even if it's just something so we can get the kids some place safe, like a bunker. Or somewhere they can go where we can't during a lock down. Since there's always a chance of us turning into the enemy.

[Another flurry of movement and sound, and his face reappears on the video, looking pleased with himself.]

Aha! Found it... let me see, yes, there are quite a few arrays that have to do with concealment... most of them seem to be for a single person or small objects, but there's one here... just a moment...

[He flicks through the pages of some book, though he's holding it at such an angle that she will only be able to see the pages turning, if that.]

Yes, here we are now. A-hem... it's called 'amnesia' and it seems that its purpose is to make someone forget why they were walking into a room. Perhaps we could apply that to the walls of wherever we put the children? Perhaps if we tweaked it a bit, mmm...

[He's only half talking to her at this point.]

It doesn't last long, apparently... something about... [He squints a little at the handwriting.] Erm... daily? Reapply daily. The array that is.

Hnn... [He taps the book against his chin, then smiles brightly at the bracelet.] Well! It's far from the ideal solution for what you have in mind, but it's at least a place to start, and at least it should give us something to work with, should that... horrific event happen once again.

[Personally he's just hoping the Gods took a hint from that fiasco and have found a way to better safeguard the souls that are currently in their care. He really doesn't want to attack people again.]

I'm certainly willing to give it a try. And it's not difficult to use whatsoever. You just have to memorize the order in which the symbols go, and draw them on properly. There are quite a few children here would could handle such a simple task with ease.

[Alice, for example.]

And then it's merely a matter of willing it to work. Simple enough for anyone who knows how to use their powers here, though if necessary I believe there may be a way to switch the activation sequence to a verbal rather than a mental trigger.

As I said, I'll give it a try, though I'm only just starting to learn about them. You may have better luck speaking to Aladdin... he's a child, but he seems to be in charge of all things runic around here.

Oh. Well, I suppose I could do, yes. Though do not mistake my ability to read from a book with actual expertise with these... arrays. I only just started studying this.

[Who would have thought that he would ever end up studying magic...]

But yes, I will be sure to ask about it the next time I get a chance.
