' Anything that gets your blood racing is probably worth doing. '

I guess I'm not really in the habit of giving advice (if this could even be called advice). I'm not even much of a bookworm or have that much of a thing for words. I just figured everyone has a phrase or quote that matches them pretty well, don't they?

I like this one. Pretty sure I would have liked it at nineteen, too.

Just out of curiosity...

Is there any idea about a defence system or plan of action if, or I guess when, Thiazi attacks again? I feel like this is twice we've been caught off guard. Both times a huge chunk of people had left the city. I don't think that unintentional. Even if it's just something so we can get the kids some place safe, like a bunker. Or somewhere they can go where we can't during a lock down. Since there's always a chance of us turning into the enemy.

[Those words pull an odd look out of her, something definitely close to adoration. She muses over his response for a moment or two and then smiles, nodding in agreement.]

I think we'll be able to figure out a way, between all of us. It's what I do back home, care for children. Just two in particular, but here...here I feel responsible to make sure the whole lot of them stay safe.

[The odd look from her causes him to blink for a moment, mostly because it's a little unexpected - and maybe because he's not sure he saw that right. But by the time she's done with her musing, he's nodding right along with her again.]

I remember that from the other day. Ye mentioned the family ye work for, back there.

[They'd been distracted by horsey things, but he'd still picked up on what she'd said and it'd stuck in his mind well enough that he could still recall it fairly easily.]

You're right, though. They don't deserve to be caught up in this, no matter why the gods brought them here. So someplace safe, then. Or maybe two places that ye can get to, in case parts of the city get cut off again like they did with that ice.
