' Anything that gets your blood racing is probably worth doing. '
I guess I'm not really in the habit of giving advice (if this could even be called advice). I'm not even much of a bookworm or have that much of a thing for words. I just figured everyone has a phrase or quote that matches them pretty well, don't they?
I like this one. Pretty sure I would have liked it at nineteen, too.
Just out of curiosity...
Is there any idea about a defence system or plan of action if, or I guess when, Thiazi attacks again? I feel like this is twice we've been caught off guard. Both times a huge chunk of people had left the city. I don't think that unintentional. Even if it's just something so we can get the kids some place safe, like a bunker. Or somewhere they can go where we can't during a lock down. Since there's always a chance of us turning into the enemy.

[ And because I say so, she will be. Just walking into the clinic. And if there's a little bell on the door, it'll be bell-ing. And Rose will be there, looking for all the world like a dog dragged to the vet. ]
action;
Rose! Hullo!
[ He scrambles to his feet, knowing that it's probably better for the both of them if they get this over with quickly and quietly with few questions. ]
Um--right. So, quickest way to do this. [ He's just going to hold a little cup out to her with an apologetic. Speaks for itself, really. ] Sorry.
action;
This ... Can it stay between just us, maybe? No matter the results?
action;
Oh, yeah! Of course. It won't leave this room. I'm not supposed to tell patients' personal details anyway.
action;
I know it takes a bit- I think. I'll just wait.
[ She isn't sure. Sometimes it takes five minutes, sometimes it takes a few hours. Plus she's got no idea what sort of equipment they have here in the city. ]
action;
It won't be too long, if you'll just sit down. I don't expect anyone else will come in. Slow day.
[ No special equipment, really. Just dip a strip in, wait five minutes, and you get the results, just like back on earth. Asgard has been strangely generous to the clinic. They've had no trouble getting what they need.
When he's sure Rose is settled, Rory disappears into one of the back rooms. He emerges just a few minutes later, holding a small piece of paper which he holds out to her immediately. ]
Right. So. I thought you'd prefer I wrote it down. Just in case someone had turned up. Here you are.
action;
She very nearly stumbled out of her seat. She didn't however, snatch the paper out of his hand. In fact, she looked almost weightless with relief at the extra measure. Not something she'd have thought of by a long shot.
But the words... The breath rushes out of her before she'd even realized she'd been holding it. Negative. So it was all for nothing. Just a silly little scare that, quite literally, meant nothing. She was just late. Honestly, annoyingly, late. ]
Thanks... That's um. I should feel relieved.
Shouldn't I? [ She turns a vaguely confused look toward the nurse. Shouldn't she? ]
action;
He chooses his answer carefully. ]
Well, I suppose...I mean, I can't really answer that for you.
[ But that doesn't feel like quite enough to him. He can't just leave her with nothing but that. ]
Um...Rose? I don't want to invade your privacy, but if you ever decide you need to talk about...well, this or anything, I have a requirement not to tell anyone.
