NPC POST - VIDEO

[ It's not been often lately that any of the gods have seemed outright celebratory on the network, but here you have it now: Thor's face is lit up with a brilliant and almost triumphant grin. ]

Polish your armor and sharpen your swords. We've taken Tyr and his power out of Thiazi's hands, and we know now for sure: she will not stand a chance against us and our dragon friends.

We will leave at sunrise in two days' time, and know this, Travelers - she is afraid, and with good reason. In two days, we march to victory.

[ ooc notes: He'll be hanging around a while if anyone has any questions, but feel free to use this post for ic discussion/planning too! The ooc event post will go up detailing all of the minutia in the morning. Thanks! ]

I know as much about why as you do, as he's never told me. [He actually finds this somewhat amusing, and is only a little sorry for contributing to the headache Thor is probably going to have by the end of this conversation.]

But how is that possible?

[Sorry for the nine-year-old, dude.]

[Bro, your amusement isn't welcome. Bran is thoroughly bewildered by this. He gives a deep frown.]

... Do you think maybe there's someone else out there who looks like me?
needsnoheadsman: ([ indecisive ])

shhh don't worry

[personal profile] needsnoheadsman 2014-11-27 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
Mayhaps. [It would be really confusing, and he huffs out a breath.] But if there is, I've not seen him around Asgard as of yet.

[Key words being, as of yet. He's been here too long to discount the possibility.]

The magic here is strange enough, I would believe it possible.

[Not to mention totally creepy and invasive.]

It's hard to believe how short a time ago Maester Luwin was telling me magic was all old stories.
needsnoheadsman: ([ reasoning ])

[personal profile] needsnoheadsman 2014-11-28 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
[This isn't even the creepiest instance, that was last year, but that was all Thiazi's fault, so.

Maester Luwin's name stings somehow, and Robb finds himself wondering what the old man would make of all this, of dead men coming back again and again, seemingly no worse for the wear, of the grey city slowly filling in with color once more. It hasn't been so short a time, for him.]

Not even the old stories came close to some of it. [Eight months he's been here, and every so often something comes along that surprises him somehow.] You get used to most of it, though.

Some of Old Nan's did. She used to tell me all about the White Walkers, and the Land of Always Winter.

[He makes a face, remembering back.]

I'm not quite sure those are the stories I'd like to hear after this, if I could go back.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm not so certain those are just stories now. [A breath, then:] Jon was here, for a time. He mentioned some things, about the White Walkers. [There's a war coming to the Wall, Jon had told him once, and Robb has been here for too long to simply dismiss some of the stories now. Especially if his brother's telling him all about them.] His wildling friend [just go with it Bran] said the same thing.

[Another breath, before he says, with the air of someone who really wishes he wasn't the bearer of bad news here:] You wouldn't remember this place, if you could go back. You'll still be able to hear those stories.

[Bran's expression goes rapt at hearing his brother's name. He barely hears the rest of the statement.]

Jon was here? Has... has anyone else...

[It doesn't particularly matter, of course, but it could mean hope - hope that one of them could come back.]

[A lump grows in his throat then, grief bubbling up within him before he swallows once more, just to clear his throat.]

Mother was here. And Sansa and Arya as well. They were--They were well, before they left. [And his mother hadn't known about the wedding, not until Robb and Arya told her and broke her heart.] This place seemed far too fond of Westerosi, for a time.

[His eyes dampen at hearing their names, but Bran steels himself, refusing to cry in front of Robb right now.]

I wish they would come back. I haven't seen them since-

[... Well, since before, of course. He woke up with all of them hundreds of miles away.]
