NPC POST - VIDEO

[ It's not been often lately that any of the gods have seemed outright celebratory on the network, but here you have it now: Thor's face is lit up with a brilliant and almost triumphant grin. ]

Polish your armor and sharpen your swords. We've taken Tyr and his power out of Thiazi's hands, and we know now for sure: she will not stand a chance against us and our dragon friends.

We will leave at sunrise in two days' time, and know this, Travelers - she is afraid, and with good reason. In two days, we march to victory.

[ ooc notes: He'll be hanging around a while if anyone has any questions, but feel free to use this post for ic discussion/planning too! The ooc event post will go up detailing all of the minutia in the morning. Thanks! ]

Healers

Right. We need to make sure we leave enough supplies. Enough people back here to help defend and heal, if necessary. We've had too many attacks in the past where they took advantage of some of us leaving. I'll talk to Lee and the Doctor, whether they would prefer to stay or go along. As for teams....I'm not quite sure. I know some of us tend to stay with the clinic or makeshift one while others go out and look to assist any injured in battle.

Agreed. If we can split up at least some of the people going and staying, this would be a good call. I... need to go [She gave clem a meaningful look. It wasn't because of the healers that she was dead set going, but the strike team. However, that was for later.]

However, we've got plenty enough healers that we should be able to split up without trouble. Splitting between the base in the fighting and going out is a good call, but the teams going out should have at least one fighter with each, healer or not.

Right. I know some have been here longer, that feel more invested in this than others might. I'm going to check with Lee and Eight first, before I decide. But either way, I want to help.

[There's a nod.] I know. I mean, we need to make sure they have someone like me with them that can use their power offensively, that can defend them if it comes to that. Even at the clinics.

[The only reason in the past she was allowed to do that was with Eight supervising, she's sure. Neither him or Lee would really want to put her in any danger more than necessary. She knows that.]

Well, honestly? There's an old rule of thumb I try to live by. No shame in being left in the back ranks. Being in the back ranks means there's a home to go back to. But you understand that. I just know I'll be on this one, even if I'm in the back ranks against Surt.

...Gods, I'm just glad there's kids like you who actually understand when I say things like this. Some adults don't.

The back ranks? Oh. Right. This - Asgard, it's as good a home as any. Better, in some ways. I just figure, it's happened before, so better to be prepared just in case they try attack while some are away again.

[And oh, there's the eyebrow raise.]

It just...makes sense to be prepared. I don't see why people wouldn't, especially when there's a history of them trying something. I mean, this may end up not working, we may end up needing more in the front lines out there. We may not get attacked back here. But....it's common sense, to make sure we have somewhere to come back to.

[Because she hasn't had anywhere in so long now. Two years. Thus 'home' is something of a delicate topic for Clementine.]

It has, and it's much better to prep with that in mind. You have a good head on your shoulders.

But, as much as it sounds like common sense, I used to hear that sort of thing wasn't so common. [She shrugged.] We get mad and want vengeance. Others get in for the glory. Others think they can get ahead by being in the front ranks. People get stupid when they get selfish. I should know. Spent most of my life being pretty damned self-centered.

You can do some real stupid things that way. You're right, though. It's not a bad place, ignoring the crazy moments.

Thanks.

I get that people are....worked up and want to get this sorted. But it's better to have a plan, or some start to one before we head off. Especially if we have a couple of days to prepare before leaving. You're right though. I've seen when people get selfish, their decisions and the consequences.

It's not so bad. Most of the time. At least here I know I'm gonna get fed. Have a roof over my head and a proper bed. More than I have back home.

I've got all the time in the world to sort out the extra stocks of poultices and make sure they're distributed between the clinics in town and the hospital. In that time, we should be able to get some sort of plan together too, so level heads...

And, yeah. [A pause] I don't miss those days of searching for food and shelter. I'm guessing you don't either.

I can help, if you need a hand.

But no. I don't miss it. I don't mind sleeping outside, but it gets old quick, especially in winter when we're traveling and there aren't many places to stay overnight in the woods.

The cold never got to me that much, but I lived in the mountains, so there's that. Still, not having a roof gets old after a while. That much I know. Listen, stop by Pinch and I'll put you to work helping to sort things out. Extra hands will make this a hell of a lot easier. that much I know.

I don't think I ever really got used to it. Even after cracking the ice and trying to save Luke and Bonnie.

[But. Well, that isn't really something she talks about.]

I'll definitely come by and help though. So you'll have at least one pair of extra hands in all this.

... [She resisted the temptation to ask about that story. "Trying to save" stories rarely ended well, and given what little she knew of Clementine's life, she was pretty sure that this fell into that category.]

I'll see you over here in that case. The extra hands will definitely help. Anything you want while you're over here. I can fix up some tea.

Right. Good thing I've gotten more used to it, living with Ril and the Doctors. I'll see you there. Any particular time?

I'll probably be here until pretty close to curfew. You can stop by any time you want before then. Just don't get stuck over here too late, alright? Wouldn't want you to get in trouble.

[personal profile] littlesurvivor 2014-11-14 08:20 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, rather not be out too late and risk getting caught after curfew or worrying Lee and Eight.

Exactly. Alright then. I'll see you over here soon in that case. Just come on in. I'll hear the bell at the door, letting me know you've arrived.
