Video || 03. You can lead a horse to water.
See a buried bit of rubble, and you'll try to dig it out.
Try to dig it out, and you'll get your hand stuck in a crevice. Get your hand stuck in a crevice, and you'll drop your pretty jewels. Drop one small ring of metal, and you'll find yourself vanished for a week. Disappear for but a week, and the whole bloody place goes to ice and shit.

[ He shakes his head. Today's sweater selection was perhaps not in the best taste. ]
I will be brief. I am seeking my horse, a blood bay courser of fourteen hands, like to have escaped in the floods. He is battle-trained and poor eating; worth far better reward if returned alive.
[ A pause, a longer one than quite intended, before he adds: ]
I cannot find Johanna Mason within the city; she appears gone. If you knew her, I would speak. To this end, I am also seeking an employee.
Basic merchant's work with sales and sums, the wage is fair. You may contact me here or privately. I do not own the business, but you will be assigned your hours and tasks through me. If that poses any difficulty, then by the Seven, restrain your foolishness and do not waste either our time by asking.
[[ OOC: If your character wants a break from rebuilding to try their hand at rodeo, Honour the horse can be found in the comments. Ponies!! ]]

ACTION; Barbie Horse Adventures.
True enough, at the fringes stands a tall, red charger -- four-legged, well-fed, and sleek. It's as close to the description as any of its fellows beyond the city wall. ]
I'm a Barbie horse in a Barbie...house....
[After spending the last couple days helping to round up horses and other beasts, it's becoming almost routine. Follow quietly at a distance until the animals stop caring about his presence. Move closer in stages. Slip a halter over a head. Lead home. Inevitably, three or four will follow along in their leader's wake, which has made things dramatically simpler.
Barbie Horse is probably going to be less simple, but Connor's going to try the usual tactics first anyway. Don't mind him, Barbie Horse! He's just a dude. Walking. With a halter in hand. Totally innocent. Really!]
idk that sounds kind of...un-stable...ba dum tish
/grooooan
i don't have any horse icons right now so pretend
neigh, i shan't

[She... cares more about the horse than the owner, but it's likely better than nothing.]

He will answer to Honour, aye. I would be grateful for the aid. You have worked with them before?

The fact that he might have been the first person she thought to wish that she could find in this city is neither here nor there.
Not that she is entirely certain that his man is Jaime, considering the odd shirt and... well, the fact that he's right there when he really shouldn't be, even if the attitude and manner of speaking most certainly sounds like a good fit for the Lannister man. ]
Ser Jaime?
[ All other questions can wait until his identity has been properly confirmed. ]

(Comfort is not a gift which he assigns, however tempting its lure. He is no child seeking the warmth of a mother's hand.)
Still, something strikes wrong -- ought she not be so whole? ]
My lady.
[ It's a long moment before he fumbles, flustered to punch the feed to private, schooling his expression from frank surprise back into lofty, bored surveillance. It can't hide the tension of his eyes upon hers. She'd been just there when he'd left -- ]
You are newly-arrived?

I passed a herd of horses by the Gate of Fire an hour or so ago. Your horse is among them, and before you ask, no, Grey Wind hasn't tried to chase any of them down yet. [Yet. The message there is clear: get your horse before my wolf decides to make a meal out of him.
You're welcome.]
[voice]
I will remember your powers of observation.
[ Your wolf would have its skull kicked in for the trouble. ]

[Then the light tone drops off.] Yeah, I knew her too. Kinda--I offered to teach her how to shoot.

She would have been a bloody terror with gun. [ He doesn't sound as those he disapproves. Jaime's seen them, awful, loud things that they are. Awful and loud fit well for type. ] In her absence, do you still teach?

[It's easier to get a horse to come if you know what to call it, right?]
[ Big as the horse is, the girl isn't likely to wrangle him alone. But that's well. Any pair eyes are better than his alone. ]
My turn to ask your own. Have you handled the creatures before?

[ He's honestly getting bored with his paperboy job. ]
video
Not a poor question -- there is more to it than the plain exchange of goods. You needs must keep track of all you sell; what you take in, what you put aside, where and when to acquire more of it.
I handle such matters, the rest is easy work. [ After all, he's picked it up quickly enough. ] Keeping the place presentable, and assisting requests. Handling money and keys in a trustworthy manner.
Do you know your numbers?

The shop is not far from Loki's District, if you wish a look.

voice;
Is that what became of you? Perhaps you should be more cautious where you stick your hand, Ser. One would imagine you would like to keep it.
voice;
You speak truth, Ser Mormont, but I'm not so well equipped as you to hide it up my own ass.

[He'd mentioned battle trained, which meant the horse was worlds away from a docile fair pony. But it also likely knew some commands]
Is there anything I should know that'll calm it down?

[A fact that some celebrate, when their home is better than this place. There doesn't seem to be any celebration in Peeta's voice.]

Could you tell me of it?

[ No, she's serious. Tess had quite enjoyed the short times she'd spent with Johanna. Mostly they had just sparred, that was about it though. But Tess had liked the girl's wit and sharp tongue. ]
