BAD MOON RISING: EVENT FEED

This is a Stickied Post/Event Feed for the Bad Moon Rising event, since there are many things going on in the city at once, and multiple things that characters would notice. Please keep an eye here for changes in the city, especially when Thiazi's corrupted begin their attacks.

The second week log for the event is here, and the third week log is HERE, though characters are welcome as always to create their own posts and logs. This was last updated on 09/24 at 4:24PM CST. NOTE: If you want to track this post, I will make a comment whenever I update it with something substantial/important. I promise not to spam your inbox with useless notifs!

******** UPDATE: The fourth week log/corrupted takedown post is HERE, and the Eighth Doctor publicly and ICly announced their intentions HERE to kick things off! ********

    THROUGHOUT THE CITY:
  • Natives are growing antsy as outbursts and bouts of sleepwalking increase amongst the Travelers. They remain polite, friendly, and near-deferential, but it is not hard to see concern in the day-to-day dealings with those Natives who still have color.
  • There is an isolated network report of powers backfiring dangerously.
  • On Day 326, five characters will be found standing flush against the invisible barrier to the castle, unresponsive to outside stimuli and occasionally laughing. After sundown, they will collapse as they regain control of themselves.
  • On Day 326, many posts and doors in Heimdall and Thor districts will have deep bites and gouges, as if slammed into with some sort of sharp weapon.
  • IMPORTANT: On Day 328, James Potter is murdered. Hours later, Odin announces on the network that evil magic is flooding the city. Everyone is affected to some degree, but the worst of these night crimes are being committed by a certain set of people who seem to have been targeted in particular. They do not seem to know who they are or have memories of committing these atrocities at night. Odin has requested that people remain vigilant, and to try to help them find who these corrupted are.
  • On Day 329 the bodies of three Natives will be strung up on rooftops in Freyr, Hel, and Loki with a crude Templar's Cross carved into them. More will be strung up in Thor and Baldr, eviscerated and missing some organs.
  • On Day 329, messages will appear on the ground near the Gate of Frost, Gate of Fire, and Gate of Fog. It reads "are you next?", and is in red spraypaint on the Gate of Fire and Gate of Fog; near the Gate of Frost, it is in blood.
  • Starting on Day 329, dead and colorful natives show up in some gray, disused alleyways.
  • On Day 329, jumbled conjugations of the word 'fall' will be written onto the sides of the walls in Loki's district, scattered and scrawling in a different handwriting than the other sentences showing up on the walls.
  • On Day 330, guards will be seen recovering and carrying away the corpses of some Natives, bodies headless and throats ripped out.
  • On Day 330, body parts will be found floating in jars at the god's shrines in front of the god houses, mostly things like eyeballs, hearts, and the odd kidney.

    BALDR'S DISTRICT:
  • On the morning of Day 328, the stables will be empty and damaged. All of the horses but one will be found wandering and startled nearby. Written in blood on the walls of the stable are tall letters that say 'THE END IS NIGH' in Greek, Mandarin, Arabic, Russian, Korean, and English - mostly in the park, but in random locations around Baldr's district as well.

    FREYA'S DISTRICT:
  • On the morning of Day 326, the natives who work in the Folkvang Comfort House will let out a cry of alarm. It has been broken into, with the lobby in a state of absolute mess and every mirror shattered beyond repair.
  • 329: A trail of dead birds, most of them stabbed and some beheaded entirely, begins on the main road and leads all the way to the front door of Freya's welcome house.
  • On the morning of Day 329, the pet shop will be in utter disarray. There is no sign of forced entry, but glass will be broken, shelves overturned, and the few animals in it left alive are in a state of utter panic. Some of the other pets seem to be half eaten.

    FREYR'S DISTRICT:
  • On the morning of Day 327, panicked Natives will be found helping each other put out the fires that have started in their homes. They have no easily identifiable cause. No lives are lost, but a half dozen homes are burned to the ground.
  • On the morning of Day 327, the bodies of two Natives will be situated outside the paid housing, tied high in the trees. Their faces are pointed toward the doors of the apartments. They will remain there until city guards are alerted and arrive, mid-morning, to remove them.

    HEIMDALL'S DISTRICT:
  • On the morning of Day 327, there is panic outside of the Bank, and travelers will be unable to use it for the next few days. It has been broken into, defaced, and robbed. If pressed, Natives will reveal that a hooded figure of middling height and slight build was scene on the security camera before the lines were cut.

    HEL'S DISTRICT:
  • On Day 326, gibberish graffiti begins to appear on the walls of buildings near Hel's Welcome House. It is a mismash of English and Latin and the occasional odd keysmash character - $@#%#!.

    LOKI'S DISTRICT:
  • On Day 327, the storefront windows to about two dozen shops will be completely shattered. No merchandise is missing, but there is what looks like plant matter caught in some of the glass.

    ODIN'S DISTRICT:
  • On the morning of Day 326, deep and gouging clawmarks will appear in many of the wooden doors of the district, as if done by some sort of large and angry animal.
  • On Day 327, gibberish graffiti begins near the library. It starts as a mixture of English and Latin, before resolving itself into 'the deer fell from the cliff' over and over.
  • On Day 328, smoke and the sounds of Natives' panic will be coming from the library. It will be closed for the next few days, as fires were started in several places in it, and managed just in time to keep it from turning into a complete disaster.
  • On Day 328, graffiti starts on buildings near the library, spreading out into the city. It reads the deer fell from the cliff over and over.
  • On Day 329, there will be the corpses of several Natives stabbed to death and left horribly mangled. They will be arranged right outside the door of Odin's welcome house. It seems as if they were stabbed with spikes, but there is no identifiable weapon type causing this.

    SIGYN'S DISTRICT:
  • On the middle of the night of 324 (Sept 11th), a gunshot rings out on the second floor of the Welcome House. The next morning, only the faint impression of bloodied footprints leading from Room 208 is left tracked in the carpets.
  • On Day 329, graffiti will appear on walls of buildings near the hospital reading "the deer fell from the cliff" twice, before it messily segues into "the deer jumped from the cliff" repeatedly.

    THOR'S DISTRICT
  • On Day 326, an angry native will be found in the streets, interrogating anyone he comes across -- his armory has been broken into, and several expensive bladed weapons stolen from his displays.
NOTE: HERE is an IC schedule for date references.
