[The video feed settles on the grey-skinned troll as he runs a hand through his violet streaked hair.]

You knoww, a lot a' you complain about fightin' in this wwar, gettin' dragged here against your fuckin' wwill. But wwhat I wwant to knoww is wwhat the fuck happens wwhen it's all ovver.

[Eridan is surprisingly somber, a hint of a frown tugging down the corners of his grey lips as he stares down the screen. His fins are slightly drooped, and he chews on his lower lip for a long moment before continuing.]

[He's not going to let them send him back to die, no matter how impermanent it might be in his universe.]

Well... neverending pain would sort of suck. Just imagine, you're totally agonized, and you can't move, can't do anything to stop it. Just mind-searing pain, and you're screaming your little heart out until you can't, you're just spitting up blood. And then you start choking, which makes everything hurt more, and the only thought you're capable of then, is 'How could this hurt more?' Since you've given up hoping it would stop. It might never!

Come on, a quick gurgly death is fun any day. Not dying can be way worse.

[Wait what was the other topic. Death and blood's easily his favorite subject. So he just shrugs and keeps smiling.]

You got a point there. Just surprised to hear that sort a' talk from a human. They tend to get all fuckin' testy about a bit a' vviolence betwween friends.

Aw, thanks! Usually I hear the opposite, that I should start acting more humany. Human-ish? I dunno, I just love dead things. And killing them.
