12th Mishmash ~ [Video]
[ The moment the Doctor gets back into the city, he turns on the bracelet to, well. Announce his return. Except the moment it's started recording he seems to remember something, and instead he starts patting himself down, runs his tongue over his teeth and touches his chin and his nose and runs his fingers through his hair.
His hair which... isn't the same colour it usually is. But, naturally, he doesn't know that.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Doctor has ended up ginger. Temporarily, but he sure is ginger. ]
I still have the same body. Same chin, same nose, same teeth, same height, same everything. I died and I didn't change!
That is weird.
[ And he laughs, because it really is, and he starts walking about and basically doing... all sorts of things with his arms and legs, hopping and jumping and waving his hands. Because it sure feels exactly the same.
After a few moments of that, he starts talking. ]
Hello, everyone, I'm back! Did you miss me?
[ Before he ends the feed, he spreads his arms with a grin. ]

Exactly. So clearly this wasn't either.

[Jamie supposes, in the end, he can forgive the Doctor for not really thinking things through. And he'd give the Doctor a friendly clap on his back to let him know that, only that's a bit difficult to do that through this wee screen. Well, maybe he can fix that.]
Hey, where are ye at the moment, anyway?

[video -> action]
[And off goes the feed, which might have been more ominous at the beginning of the conversation. Now, though, it's more just that Jamie wants to see the Doctor in person...and maybe reassure himself he's actually there, just a little. Shortly thereafter, he shows up over by the castle - and he wasn't kidding about being faster now. Maybe he's not as fast as some people, but there's been definite improvements on that front. The moment he stops, though, he's scanning the area to see if he can spot the Doctor.]
Doctor? Are ye still here?
[action]
I'm here! You're not going to punch me, are you? I feel like a lot of you want to do that.
[ But he's not cowering or anything (although he could be) and walks over. ]
[action]
[There's a moment where Jamie looks at the Doctor with a expression on his face that makes it very clear he had thought about it, but there's no punches coming. Instead, he moves to pull the Doctor into a rather fierce hug that's just shy of being an outright bearhug, although without his usual sort of happy thumping accompanying it - at least not yet. That'll show up soon enough. Right now, though, there's just a whole lot of relief he needs to get through first.]
[action]
[ And the hug manages to actually knock the breath out of him, but he smiles as he returns it just as tightly and rubs his hand over Jamie's back. ]

[He can't even be upset about the Doctor laughing, in this case, but his smile does turn a touch more wry than it had been a few moments ago.]
I may have been a wee bit upset with ye at the time. Ye had me worried, ye know.

[It's said in that somewhat gruff way that he uses sometimes as a cover for other emotions, making him seem more upset than he is. But in case the Doctor doesn't get that he's not, after a few seconds he smiles again to let him know that the apology's accepted. It's only after that that he finally takes a good and proper look at the Doctor, and realizes something's off.]
Although I can't say the same for your hair. What happened to it, Doctor?

How'd ye manage to actually talk her into that, though? Or did ye just talk at her about it until she gave in and decided to go ahead and do it?

[He doesn't believe that for one minute, but if the Doctor wants to insist its 'with', he'll play along.]
Are ye going to be able to keep it, then, or is it like one of those curses and it'll go away eventually?

Should be one of those regenerations, to really do it properly. Or am I? What do you think?

[He's not exactly being clear if he means he liked it better not-ginger, or liked it better back when Eleven was Two. Possibly both.]
Hey, but can ye even regenerate now? I mean, as long as you're still here. Would ye not have done it already if ye could've?

Nope, I can't. If I could, I would have done it, rather than die. But I'm just human now. And we can't have Eight regenerate in case he dies, can we? That'd be a mess.
