Ah, but if they're limited in power, lowering themselves to asking humans other 'lower' creatures for help, perhaps they are not truly 'gods'.

But that is exactly my point. Gods are called gods for the express purpose of being absolute beings. Why would they need the help of a mortal human, with little if any powers, able to die as easily as a hit to the head?
