[ Publicly addressing a forum of people was very, very low on the list of things that Yunoha wanted to do. Thus, despite her having been here for a few days now, it's no surprise that it took her this long to get around to it. Voice and video were certainly out of the question, but she thinks she can manage text. Probably. It's no different than using the net or texting on a phone, right...? And Ja'far had said she might be able to find her friends with it. So she had to try it. ]

Hello, everybody. My name is Yunoha Suroor, from Neo-Kowloon. I just got here and was placed into Sigyn house. I hope we can get along and fix Asgard.

Some of you helped me before when I first got here... If you did, then thank you. I'm really sorry that I was so scared, or if I acted rudely to you because of it.

[ a slight pause. How does she word this...? ]

Are you another who should be buried and forgotten in your own world? Somehow managed to cheat death, hm? [he doesn't usually ramble about private topics like this, but he has a lot of FEELINGS lately and no outlet for them poor Yunoha. at least he has the foresight to switch to filtered.]

You're young, so enjoy it while it still seems like a blessing.

[ FORTUNATELY YUNOHA IS A GOOD FEELINGS SPONGE. And the fact that he made this private makes her think even more that he's not actually a bad person. He's just got issues of some kind. That gives her some confidence. ]

Nothing like that. I just... There was a time when everything seemed really bad, and I almost disappeared, but I found the strength to keep going. [ pause. ] But... you are someone like that?

[OH YUNOHA you poor feelings sponge, destined to be the recipient of snarking and insults, and then complained at...

he feels a little embarrassed to have missed the guessing boat though, projecting some of his own issues in the process, which instantly makes him snappish and defensive!]

I've just lived a long time, that's all. I have more insight in the areas that most people are short-sighted in. Your situation sounded like several I've heard before.

Lived a long time...? How old are you?

[ because he looks as young as she doess... which means about 5 years younger than she actually is. ]

[he would lord it over other people if he happened to be in yunoha's spot, so of course he'd assume the worst... BEING A TERRIBLE PERSON HAS TERRIBLE SIDE EFFECTS.... but yes, gonna sigh first because this is about the millionth time he's gotten the question since he arrived and only maybe like two people have believed him.]

I round my age to a century. [keeping track of individual years gets so tedious after a handful of decades...!]

A -- a century? [ THAT SURE WASN'T WHAT SHE WAS EXPECTING... well, it was, in a way, considering the original remark she was questioning, but she didn't think he'd be so forthright about it. High Commander Fudo and Chairman Crea both acted suspiciously old and wisened, especially the latter, but they always dodged questions on the matter.

Naturally, she really wants to ask how he managed to "cheat death," as he put it, for that long, but she gets the feeling that he doesn't want to talk about it. So instead, she just pauses a little awkwardly. ] ... I guess that you might not like the world so much any more after seeing so much of it.

if she asked he actually wouldn't have a problem explaining that much. cheating mortality isn't the same in his mind as the one instance he truly cheated death.]

A century, yes. It's given me plenty of time to study the recurring patterns of humanity if nothing else, and most of them are unpleasant.

That might be true, but... even if there are a lot of bad times and bad people, they're worth enduring for the good ones.

[ this is something she believes quite strongly. as heartbroken as she was, she never once wished that she'd never met Jin or had never been born herself. And in the end, it had been the goodness of other people outweighing her own sadness that brought her back from the edge. ]

[he almost feels like laughing. to him, that sort of perspective is pretty par for the course for any human being, especially the young ones.]

I'm not certain what I expected to hear from you. [UNFILTERING yes he's decided he doesn't want to have this conversation anymore, so mature.] At any rate, there are a few books on the Nordic gods at the library in Odin. If you're curious and don't know what to expect from them, check a few of those out. It should give you a decent idea of what's to come.

... Um... I don't know what happened to you, Charles, so I can't really say anything important, but... I don't think it's good to look at things so sadly all the time. Even here, I'm sure there are good things, maybe even that the gods have done.
