[She clearly has no idea what she's doing. For starters, the video is just of the wall to begin with. Mostly she's just hit buttons until something seemed to happen.]
Is this...? Oh dear, this is so dreadfully confusing. Well...
[Finally she comes into view, curls all arranged perfectly despite her absence of maids to attend her, or near enough. Admittedly, her hat is hiding most of it, but that was the novelty of such a large hat, and she was glad she had them, because doing her hair was going to become... difficult. Almost as difficult as lacing up her corset by herself.
She's also sitting on the stairs of the Welcome Hall, and somewhere between a frown and a pout on her face. She was doing alright with being here, some part of her was even excited... but... well she couldn't go out through the water. It would ruin her dress, and on top of everything else, she disliked feeling trapped, even if she was used to it.]
I'm told that others can see this? I'm a little confused but... does anyone know how to leave the buildings without... well, getting damp?
[She leans on her hand, sighing a little, just a bit bored too.]

I don't have a boat, nor know how to get one. I'm not... very long here. But if you know of another way, that would be lovely, and you'd have a great deal of my thanks.
no subject
Don't...take this the wrong way, but you might find it easier if you maybe changed first?
no subject
... Changed into what? I'm really sure how it's appropriate for a respectable lady to dress here. I do not mean to be rude at all, you're being very kind to me...
[She fidgets to just have something else to focus on.]
no subject
Ok, don't, kill me for saying this but...you could at least wear something not so long. Is it bad if I just say pants?
no subject
... I... can't say I own any men's garments, sir, it's not something most... respectable ladies of my acquittance own...
no subject
No, yeah, that makes sense. And no rubber boots, either, probably.
... I can't honestly tell who is more awkward here.
I'm not sure exactly what that is. But usually it's oiled leather boots for, well just being out in the country, and even then one usually stays inside when the weather is this bad...[uhm...] ...Oh goodness, I'm very sorry, prattling on like this...
It's a hard call to make
No, it's fine, I didn't really think before I started talking about time-related...misunderstandings. Um. Ok. Tell me where you are, and I can try to find you some clothes that will keep you dry, and I'm sure you're not going to be ok with them, but we can figure that part out later.
I think I am going to start taking bets on which one of them dies of awkward first
Oh, are you from the... well the future, I suppose? ... and I'm at the stairs of... that place where I think people arrive originally? [She shows around her briefly on the video. Then she gives a very shaky sigh.] Alright, sir. I'll do my best. I'm sure I can manage.
[She wasn't sure of this at all, but... she had to at least try, since he was being so kind.]
I was about to say the Hulk would keep Bruce from dying of shame but he's not here
[He can't really imagine wanting to stay there but maybe it's actually comfortable or something, Bruce didn't really think about it.]
8| This will be tough, it'll be amazing if either of them look the other in the face
[If she'd be able to do that, she wouldn't be in this situation, trying not to look at what seemed an otherwise decent gentleman. This really hadn't been her plan for the evening, she was supposed to be going to a party with all of high society.]
Ten bucks says it doesn't happen
[He's not just going to leave a poor...Victorian? He doesn't know, he's not a historian, but she needs help and he'll come get her.]
This is going to be the most beautiful and flail worthy thing ever
[She gave him her prettiest smile in thanks, even if he couldn't see it. She could be awkward, but she could pleasantly awkward at least.]
Yes! I am sorry, I had to go do some field work
He'll come wading through the flood soon after, looking thoroughly wet and carrying a bundle of stuff under his arm, searching for a woman in a very elaborate dress.]
Hello?
\o/ what kind of field work? 83
Still when she saw him, her mask slipped in place, and she smiled despite everything. Trying to be a little less awkward, she stood up and curtsied to him.]
Hello, sir...? [probably should know his name, since he was helping her.]
Marine biology! Looking at predation and oyster filtration, not super exciting
It's pretty weird when she curtseys, though.]
Just Bruce, is fine. [Awkward pause.] My lady. [Yeah. Really smooth there, Bruce.]
PFFT. Oysters. How you have many times cut my feet to shreds.
Bruce it is then. [She almost giggled at just how awkward that was. Instead there's just a slight twitch at the corner of her lips though.] If we're doing that, the correct term is 'your grace', as I'm a Duchess. But... I don't think that is really necessary. [another faint little smile, but it's not unkind.] I'm Lady Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire. Please feel free to call me Gee.
