[ inb4... why did it have to be rising water woes......

so, er, it’s kind of apparent that rising water’s kind of traumatic for velige. ever since the water first started rising, he’s been feeling a distinctly uncomfortable. a sort of an ashamed disquietude. and while it’s no different from his usual pokerface, it apparently bothers him enough to the point where he’s willing to send a message out to the network in an attempt to assuage his uncertainty. ]

I need a favour. Define whats it like feelin sad.

Or tell me a sad story.

Doesn’t matter if it’s real or made-up or whatever. Slong as its supposed tmake people feel something.

I'm sorry but.. your request earlier... worried me. [he frowns while rubbing his hand idly over the table] Then your hands started to shake.

To me, it didn't seem as if you were just having a weird experience. You looked.. traumatized almost.

[ ........... a thoughtful look. he makes sure the kettle is doing all right before sitting down. everything at his own pace, man, but he seems to be thinking about something. ] You're kinda right.

[ mrrrr how to put this... ] 'm not that big of a fan of floods.

[oh hey he was right] I.. do not wish to make you uncomfortable. So you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to.

But I am here to listen if you ever need it.

'ppreciate it. [ kind of a tiiiiny smile here. ] But it ain't that exciting.

[then when vel says that, he pauses]

[ best friend and his sister, but he doesn't really know how to mark the difference. comes with being a biological construct. ... yep!! ]

[he sits quietly for a moment while his hands fold over the table] I.. know how it is to lose a family member. So I can understand the feeling.

[ he studies castor for a moment. and here's the conundrum-- he can't say sorry, because it'd be a lie. not for a lack of sympathy, but because he can't feel sorrow. and therefore whatever sympathy and empathy he wants to feel, he just can't.

the only thing he can do is to lower his head and nod. once. ] ... was my fault.

[he gives velige an even more worried look. he didn't mean to make the other boy admit anything & because of that he frowns]

Velige.. [he stands up now to stand near him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder]

[ sudden comforting hand on his shoulder! have blinking. ]

... 'm fine. [ ... a shrug. ] It just happens.

[ it just... does. ]

[aw... cute velige. have a smile]

Even still... please don't keep your feelings kept inside, alright? We are friends now so I am here for you.

[ he actually gives castor a loooong look like, like he's not entirely sure how to process this because what are feels...

but for some reason, he's a little surprised at how relieved he feels. there's a pause, and he puts a hand on the hand that's on his shoulder. ]

... yeah. I know.

[ breathes deeply. ] ... thanks.

[okay he wasn't expecting that but he smiles, hoping that he's somehow helped the other boy]

How.. do you feel now?

[ .... he thinks about this for a moment. ] ... calmer.

Drives are slowin' down.

[drives? whatever! at least the guy is feeling better]

I'm glad... That is very good.

[ yep. now let's let this moment drag as we stare off into space awkwardly--

okay, no. he shifts, and glances over to the counter. ... kettle's done, huh. brb ~~dragging his ass~~ getting up slowly and ambling over there to pour some tea. ]

[he keeps still but makes sure to watch him just in case! trying to be subtle about it...... though it's pretty obvious he's keeping an eye on you WOOPS]
